Have you ever wondered why writers write? I mean, haven’t we heard and read about it all already? There are millions, no, billions, of writings out there and yet, we still write. Where do the words come from?
How can you even make your words conspicuous after all that has already been said?
It’s always the same words – well, minus the genius writers for whom to understand what they write you need an extensive dictionary.
And even then, you might not fully grasp what the dickens they are talking about.
But let’s think about it: There are eight billion people on the planet, right? That means there is a piece of information for each one of us. Meaning, that each person has something different or unique to talk or write about.
Look at music, for instance. What wording haven’t we already heard of?
For example, every time I hear the beginning of Adele’s song, ‘Hello, it’s me’(and I’m pretty sure if you were born back in the day you have had that same feeling, too), it takes back in time to Lionel Richie’s,
‘Hello, is it me you looking for?’
That word, ‘Hello’. How many times has it been used in songs? And yet, in every song, it sounds different.
I once watched Brent Fiayaz pour his heart out in an incredible performance (I had taken my daughters to the show. The hall of over three thousand people was packed, basically by teenagers and young adults, to the fullest. Being a mom in there, I felt like an old man out).
While I watched his show, I couldn’t help thinking about how his audience knew every song, word for word.
Even if my daughter had made me listen to Brent’s music for almost three months before the show, I couldn’t entirely relate.
It was a different style from what I grew up listening to. All because of the way the words were put together and the rhythms of the songs.
That shows you how, even if it has all been said, written, and done, there’s still a lot out there that hasn’t been heard.
Something new and refreshing. Something for the different generations, cultures, tastes, languages, you name it.
French writer Jules Renard said:
“Writing is a way of talking without being interrupted.”
Because writing is like talking to an audience. Someone will listen. Someone is always listening.
Every writer has their reasons for writing.
But for the passionate writer, writing is a drug.
It’s almost adrenergic when you sit down and put something on paper:
Do you feel like writing?
Okay, think of something. Now get your pad or computer. Start writing.
Are you done? Good job. Well done. You wrote a bunch of words.
Easy. Right?
Now look at your words and think. Do they make any sense? Are they readable? Understandable? Is it an exciting topic? Will what you wrote attract and keep an audience? And on it goes.
Your words might be read and appreciated by some.
But they might not make any sense whatsoever to someone else.
And yet, it took you time, energy, and passion to write and finish that piece of work.
You put a lot of thought into what you wanted to say, and you said it.
For a writer, I think that’s the best feeling.
Finishing a piece of writing.
It’s pacifying. That’s why I love writing. And that’s why I am writing.
Because I love having this conversation with you, my silent partner and listener.
But don’t think that everyone is your partner or listener. Oh, no! As a writer, you have to know who you are talking to, and even more importantly, can you make them listen to you?
I look at authors like Ken Follet (I’m a big-time fan), or Tom Clancy. I was a child lover and passionate reader of Sydney Sheldon, and oops, don’t get me started on John Grisham.
I always wonder; how do they get all those words? The hundreds, thousands of pages with incredible stories (I’m envious). Think about the amount of research they do.
How do they get and keep their stories so captivating, their audiences so captivated? It’s magic.
And I believe writing is magic. And I want my piece of that magic. Who wouldn’t?
Readers read. Writers write.
And that’s what I want to do. I want to write.

Thanks for your write-up. Another issue is that just being a photographer involves not only difficulty in recording award-winning photographs but also hardships in establishing the best digital camera suited to your requirements and most especially hardships in maintaining the caliber of your camera. It is very true and obvious for those photography lovers that are into capturing the actual nature’s engaging scenes – the mountains, the actual forests, the actual wild or the seas. Visiting these exciting places undoubtedly requires a dslr camera that can live up to the wild’s unpleasant areas.
